Step 1: FUGA-PAVE Hybrid Mortar
The foundation of the system is the hybrid mortar mix — a specially formulated cement that’s mixed with clean grit sand and water. Its enhanced fibre content and additives improve bond strength, reduce sagging, and increase freeze/thaw resistance. It’s up to 60% stronger than traditional sand and cement mortar and far easier to work with.
Step 2: FUGA-PAVE Slurry Primer
Before laying the tile, a slurry primer is applied to the back of each slab. This cement-based primer improves adhesion by creating a strong monolithic bond between the tile and mortar bed. It can be poured, brushed, or trowelled on — and it doesn’t require any extra additives.
Step 3: FUGA-PAVE FLEX XP Grout
The final step in the system is the application of FUGA-PAVE FLEX XP Grout. It’s designed to resist weathering, UV damage, and efflorescence — making it ideal for high-traffic outdoor environments. It also contains naturally antibacterial properties for easy maintenance.
