Working with Large Format Tiles

If you are looking for advice on working with large format tiles or information on quality products that are available, Tilers Tools has produced a brochure which contains everything a tiling professional would need on your large format journey. 

Very large format tiles (over three metres long and one and a half metres wide) are becoming increasingly popular so it is important to handle them in a way that minimises flex to avoid cracks, which only become apparent when cutting and fitting, resulting in breakages. It is vital that professionals follow the correct procedures and use equipment especially for large format tiles. 

Tilers Tools is a member of The Tile Association (TTA) and are often approached for advice on the best equipment. We work very closely with the TTA and hold various product demonstrations on how to install large format tiles.  

Tilers Tools has also drawn on the standards established by the highly respected ASSOPOSA which is the Europe-wide equivalent of the TTA, as well as canvassing professional tilers we know who are highly regarded for their work with large format tiles. 

This guide shares information and top tips on tile handling, cutting and fitting and should therefore be seen as a best practice guide, but tilers ought to canvass advice from the manufacturer of the tiles being worked before they decide how to proceed with their very large format tile project. 

With the correct equipment and some guidance and training, we are confident competent tilers will quickly become much more comfortable working with these tiles.
